KissPeptin

KissPeptin is a vital peptide hormone, produced from the KISS1 gene, that acts as a master regulator of reproduction by stimulating the release of GnRH, essential for puberty, fertility, and sexual development, though it also influences mood and has roles in metabolism and cancer. Named after Hershey’s Kisses due to its discovery near Hershey, PA, kisspeptin activates the kisspeptin receptor to trigger LH and FSH, controlling sex hormone production and reproductive functions like implantation and partner preference.
