Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Restorative Research LLC (“Restorative Research”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit restorativeresearch.com (the “Site”) or purchase from us. Our products are sold only to qualified purchasers aged 21 or older for in-vitro research and laboratory use. The Site is not directed to anyone under 21.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account and order information: name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, order details, and any notes you add at checkout.
  • Payment information: card payments are handled by our payment processor (WooPayments, powered by Stripe). We do not store full card numbers. For bank transfer or Venmo payments, we receive the payment details needed to match your payment to your order.
  • Communications: messages you send through our contact form, by email, or by phone.
  • Research-purchaser confirmations: your confirmation that you are 21 or older and are purchasing for research purposes, and any information you provide if we ask to verify this.
  • Email sign-ups: your email address if you subscribe to our emails.
  • Affiliate program: if you join our affiliate program, the information needed to track referrals and pay commissions.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep your cart and login working, remember your age confirmation, measure site traffic, record how you found the Site (for example, a referral or campaign link), attribute affiliate referrals, and help prevent fraud. See Section 5.

2. How we use information

  • To process, ship, and support your orders, including sending order and shipping updates.
  • To verify that purchases meet our Terms and Conditions, including age and research-use requirements, and to refuse or cancel orders where required.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To respond to your questions and requests.
  • To send marketing emails if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To understand how the Site is used and to improve it.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations and to enforce our Terms and Conditions.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the store, under their own privacy terms, and only as needed for the purposes above:

  • Payments and fraud prevention: WooPayments / Stripe (including fraud screening), and our bank for bank-transfer payments; Venmo for Venmo payments.
  • Shipping: USPS, which receives your name and shipping address to deliver your order.
  • Hosting and site services: our web host (Bluehost), WordPress/WooCommerce and Jetpack services (including site statistics and image delivery), and Google Fonts.
  • Email: Brevo, which sends our transactional and marketing emails.
  • Forms and spam protection: Our contact form is part of our website and protected by Google reCAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, to check that submissions come from a person. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Affiliates: if you arrive through an affiliate link, the referring affiliate may see that a referred order occurred and its value, but not your payment details.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process, or a government request, or to protect our rights, customers, or others.
  • Business transfers: as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business assets.

4. How long we keep information

We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to fulfil orders and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements (generally up to seven years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer needed.

5. Cookies, email tracking, and your choices

We use cookies that are necessary for the Site to work (cart, checkout, login, and age confirmation), as well as analytics, order-attribution, and affiliate-tracking cookies. Our marketing emails may contain small tracking pixels or links that tell us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, so we can measure and improve our emails. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can turn off automatic image loading in your email program to limit email tracking. Blocking necessary cookies may stop the cart and checkout from working. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no common industry standard for these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable law recognizes them. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; to receive a copy of it in a portable format; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, targeted advertising, or profiling. Residents of states with consumer privacy laws, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and Oregon, may exercise the rights those laws provide. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require an opt-out.

To make a request, email info@restorativeresearch.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond within the time required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents: in the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in Section 1 (identifiers, contact and order details, commercial information, and internet or device activity), from you and from your use of the Site, for the purposes described in Section 2, and disclosed them to the service providers described in Section 3. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

8. Text messages

We do not currently send marketing text messages. If we offer text notifications in the future, we will ask for your separate consent, and you will be able to opt out at any time by replying STOP. We will not share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and a PCI-compliant payment processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Where information is processed

We operate in the United States and sell only to customers in the United States. Your information is processed and stored in the United States by us and our service providers.

11. Links to other websites

The Site may link to websites or services that we do not operate, such as payment or shipping-tracking pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Children

The Site is intended only for adults aged 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on the Site or by email.
